Director, screenwriter, producer, president of the Polish Filmmakers Association, expert on the audio-visual industry as well as copyright and film law. Author of films that are now classics of Polish cinema. He studied painting, Polish, and directing. He was the first chairman of the Polish Film Institute (PISF), member of the Cinematography Committee (Komitet Kinematografii), and vice-president of the the International Association of Audiovisual Authors (AIDAA). Founder of the Union of Audiovisual Authors and Producers (ZAPA), co-founder of the “Zebra” Film Studio. Laureate of many prestigious awards and national honours (the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis and the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta).
