Rainer Komers
Rainer Komers, born in Guben. Studied Film at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, Master Scholar. Film projects in Alaska, Germany, India, Japan, Yemen, Latvia and Montana. Received the Ruhrpreis for Art and Science, Mülheim 2006. His film “Nome Road System” received the German Short Film Prize in gold in 2004, “B 224” the Film Prize of Hesse in 2001, “Zigeuner in Duisburg” the German Critics Prize in 1980. Otherwise: texts, word art and film seminars. Lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr and in Berlin.

Büttel, Germany. Fragments of an “empty” landscape – with its characteristic windmills, a yellow mailbox, a petrol station. Industrial, mobile homes of construction workers. The sole commentary is a poem by Ulrika Almut Sandig, where the word “Heimat” sounds foreign and empty.
