    A certain village near Opole is celebrating Easter Sunday. 
    People gather in front of the church, but there are also horses crowding here.
    It is a traditional element of Easter celebrations, among which you can also find prayers, a horse ride around the nearby buildings and passionate, alcohol-fuelled singing. Enigmatic editing and black-and-white pictures bring out the atmosphere of the holiday. The sacred merges with the profane.

He embarks upon a dazzling drag queen transformation in which he plays his own role: a character in search of his identity. Suspended in a performance between the real and the fantasy, Aleksandr confronts his ideas on sexuality, gender and his own past. “Under the Dress” is an exercise of mise en scène close to Werner Schroeter's, an ultra-contemporary form of demanding the legitimate right to any form of sexual identity.

  • Aleksandr M. Vinogradov

    Aleksandr is Karelian film director, who was born in the North of Russia. He moved to Moscow in 2002 and in 2012 graduated Moscow Film School. In 2013 he started documentary filmmaking master program DocNomads. After his graduation Aleksandr decided to explore more art side of the filmmaking and applied to LUCA School of Arts to visual arts master program. Aside of his study, Aleksandr was developing and producing two feature films. His master thesis was also focusing on the subject of the male nudity in visual arts and how it's evolution in the modern society.

  • Marian Mayland

    Marian Mayland was born in Bocholt, Germany, in 1988. Since 2013, after completing his studies in painting, Mayland has been working postconceptually with various media. He holds an MFA from Basel's Art Institute and took part in KKH Stockholm's postgraduate program Philosophy in the Context of Art, taught by Peter Osborne. His short film works have been shown in various contexts across Europe. Recent screenings include IDFA Amsterdam, Kasseler Dokfest, and Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen.

    Award-winning filmmaker. Born in Gothenburg, Sweden on the 18th of October 1995. He writes, directs and animates. With a big passion for filmmaking and a curiousity for new ways of expression. Henrik's films are a mix all from realism to fairytale-like animations and everything in between, often dealing with subjects like mental illness and masculinity. Still at a young age, Henrik has had the opportunity to screen his films all over the world and be part of the Jury on multiple film festivals.
