While she moves with him through everyday life, her ambivalent feelings, her struggles to accept him as he is, get into her way. The story is told as an associative montage of scenes, following feelings and experiences of the mother, as we listen to her inner monologue.

    This is the story of the woman soldier, Oksana Yakubova, who returns from war. Talking to psychologists, battling her PTSD and panic attacks, she tries hard to get back to normal life. The documentary shows her path from the beginning of her rehabilitation process till her way to the normal family life and work.

    “NOBU” is a short film about former world champion karate and Japanese immigrant Nobuaki Konno. In this film his daughter and fashion designer Lisa Konno asks him about cultural differences. Prior to making this movie, Lisa made fashion collection inspired by him and his humorous view on integration. During the film he wears the collection which makes this production a short documentary and fashion film in one.

    A fictional documentary narrated by Rosa Limanci, a young Latina woman who reflects on the reasons for her migration and the condition of depopulation of her current place of residence in the south of Europe. It features a reflection on her childhood and her present, using the crossroads as examples of the depopulation of territories which are considered far away.

    The question is: are rural realities in Spain and in Latin America comparable? Specifically, in relation to population and abandonment of territories, poor and rich alike.

    A story from the countryside. She was almost 12 when she met him and two years later became pregnant with their first child. She did not want to get married, but her family decided otherwise. He married her because they were equally poor and unhappy. They had 8 healthy children who left home a long time ago. Conjoined with each other and their small village, they are not waiting for a change. Their daily life revolves around work: grazing cows and farming the land. Next to each other all the time but separate.

  • Alina Gorlova

    Director and film editor. Born and lives in Ukraine. She graduated from the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and TV. She directs documentaries but also experienced in making fiction shorts, social and commercial ads. In 2016 Alina presented her first feature-length documentary “Kholodny Yar. Intro.” Short version (60 minutes) of the film was presented at the Odesa IFF (Ukraine) and Artdocfest (Moscow, Russia). Her second movie “No obvious signs” received four awards at the Docudays festival.

  • Anne-Christine Plate

    Born 1977, she studied textile art at Burg Giebichenstein, University of Arts and Design, Halle & Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design. She has just finished her third animation project „Iktamuli”, a short film about being a mother of a so-called mentally disabled son.

  • Ramón Dia Castel

    He holds a BA in Communication Studies, audiovisual communications technician, Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property. Director with extensive experience in technical and narrative audiovisual contents developed in his years as a photographer, producer and editor at Pyrene PV, as Huesca government ArtLab responsible for audiovisuals and technical director in AVANÇ. He currently heads the production company DEDIA PRODUCTIONS SL and teaches broadcasting classes at the School of Arts of Huesca.

  • Sarah Blok

    Graduated from HKU in 2015 as a screenwriter. In 2016 she wrote the short film “The Big Picture,” which premiered at the Go Short International Short Film Festival and a performance in the main theatre “Tutorial. The art of living.” The following year she directed her own location performance “The Siren of Irene” (Over het IJ Festival) about the destructive power of irony in the life of a young man. “NOBU” is her first film.

  • Stefan Pavlovic

    Stefan Pavlovic was born in the Netherlands to parents from former Yugoslavia. In 2008 Stefan moved to California and studied film making at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Upon graduating he was hired as the personal assistant to commercial film maker Tom Kuntz. His own work exists between the experimental documentary and the linear narrative realm. Stefan moved back to Amsterdam in 2017 to join the Artistic Research in and through Cinema program, at the Netherlands Film Academy.
