During meeting with our partners from Poland and Germany we will discuss the role of new media in the contemporary world, especially in the context of new “media” generations growing up. We will contemplate what media competence a young user of new media should have, as the media are omnipresent in everyday life, and using them with skill and efficiency is a necessity. In the 21st century, new media competence is equally important as other competences that a child needs to possess. It is essential for effective communication in the modern world, and therefore the ability to communicate information and analyse it in new media is crucial.

    Klaus Dörries was born in Düsseldorf, studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). He works as an independent publisher and director, and also as associate professor at DEKRA Academy in Berlin (faculties of film editing and post-production, and history of film). He also writes for the cultural section of Rias-TV.

  • Rolf Teigler

    Born in 1957, graduated from Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie in Berlin. For many years he has worked as author, director, and producer of documentaries, short films, and commercials. He has been a lecturer for script writing and directing in different film schools and media classes. Since 2012 he has been responsible for the BA course in television and film at DEKRA Hochschule für Medien, University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

  • Klaus Blaudzun

     Born 1958, two daughters, living in Rostock/Germany. Profession: 1983 teacher, 1987 graduation (Dr. phil., study of literature), up to 1992 teachings and researches at the University of Rostock – today casual teachings, concerning media theory, film festivals. In 1993 founder of and since then general manager at Institut of New Media Rostock, head of the film and media workshop department. Since 2004 organizing FiSH – Festival in the City Port of Rostock. Since 2008 co-producer of short films by young film talents at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre.
