Is already 40 years since the Saharawi population became refugee in Algeria because of the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara. While the POLISARIO government tries out to solve the conflict with institutional help, Saharawi youngsters advocate for the option of an armed conflict. While they wait, cinema will be their only weapon.

Karla is 6 years old and has a big brother named Nordahl. Why does she consider him both as a big and a little brother? We get an insight into Karla`s world and how she deals with having a big brother with learning difficulties. The director followed her own children through a winter showing the everyday life, including both demanding situations and heartfelt love.

The animated documentary movie is based on a true story of Kostya Proletarsky, a drug user and HIV activist who died as a result of mistreatment and torture at a Russian prison. The animation featuring the original audio interview with Kostya and his mother Irina, aims to commemorate Kostya and many others who had not survived prisons around the world.

I found the autobiography of my great-uncle Waclaw at my parents’ attic. He wrote about a secret underground organization he started in Lodz City during WWII. Nobody in the family knows much about his mysterious life, and what they do know clashes with the image of the man emerging from the pages of the book. I decide to stage a one man show to present Waclaw’s incredible past to the family. But then my horrible memory puts the project in jeopardy.

Son of a Peruvian mother and a Spanish father, he studied Film, Television and Media Studies in Charles III University of Madrid. As a final thesis, he directed the documentary “انتظر (I wait)” about the Saharaui-Moroccan conflict and its effects on the students of Sahara Film School, located in the refugee camps of Tindouf. He has also studied at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and in the University of Texas at Austin. He currently lives in England, finishing an MA in Wildlife Documentary Production.

Born in 1990. Director and screenwriter of short films and music videos. Final year student of at the Film and Television Direction Department at the Film School in Lodz. He did his BA in cognitive science at the Institute of Philosophy, Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

He ran the Video Advocacy Program of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union between 2007-2015 and currently works at the Rights Reporter Foundation. He produced several hundred online advocacy films and documentaries, among them award winning feature length documentaries.

Loreto, concerned about diverse sociopolitical conflicts, travels in 2018 to the Saharaui refugee camps in Tindouf to make an internship in Sahara film school and shoot her last project, “انتظر (I wait).” In the same year, after a stay in BFM (Baltic Film and Media school) she graduates from Media and Film studies with extraordinary acknowledgements in Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. Ever since, she has worked writing and directing pieces to spread the knowledge of different social causes in Greece, Italy and Spain. Her video-essay “Correspondencias” has recently been published in Tecmerin: Journal of Audiovisual Essays.

Born in 1995 in Krakow, Poland. Holder of BA in Swedish Philology at the Jagiellonian University. Graduate of the course “Film kindergarten” in Wajda School. In her photographic and film works she focuses on the human being and emotions. On a daily basis, she makes portrait sessions and documentaries. Her works were presented on two individual and several collective exhibitions.
